[Edit - this comment was made before I saw your last comment with the working link - somehow I had to approve it]

> What's the word for the thing men you do not know made for you ?

I can't think of a good one word answer other than propaganda or perhaps advertising. I don't know them, but they know me, and they know what I'm going to do, which is give them money. And if I knew them, I likely would hear their words differently.

> Commercial programming

Well his podcast is funded by donations but that puts it in the same category as NPR so perhaps I see your point. It's funded *not by him*, but by me.

Alright.

I expect you will understand the rng attack reference in time ; but until such a time, take a simpler approach : you're sitting in the car listening to the radio. This is what you are and what you're doing. There isn't a magical setting of the knob that turns you into an astronaut, or a pianist, or anything else. God shall never call you up on the phone.

Yes, there's choices, turning the knob does things -- but, most importantly, they're choice-lite, they're a choice among a sea of self-similar items. The knob does "different" things, yes, but not different things. There's no substantial difference between dreamer b2ae84152 of demo b-5-74 tuned in vertical 9 subsection F (which "he" calls "top of the 1990 dance music greats") and dreamer 7c30af09e of demo a-a-10 tuned in vertical 15 subsection C (which "he" calls "true truth about the truths in truthdom") : they're both tuned in. They're listening to the radio. It's the radio. It could be a neoprotestant / revivalist / futurist / horribilist / artistic / tedious / musical / unmusical / political / whatever the fuck. It doesn't matter -- it's just shit on the radio.

What'd you think of some guy trying to document his listening to, say, dance music from his youth ? He tunes in on the way to work every day, and then takes things to the point where he expects to find hidden/"the true" messages in the fucking lyrics. He interprets, reinterprets, crossreferences and in general kneads the helluva that dough. Charlie Manson did it, right ? He followed the political-phylosophycal relevancy of Beatles songs he heard on the radio.

You're not substantially different just because "you're you" and "they're them" : it's still the same radio! Trying to inform your life by what you heard listening in to commercial programming is not different from attempting medicine on the basis of drugbox insets rather than textbooks (which amusingly enough is exactly what Ballas' classmates are trying). What's the word for the thing men you do not know made for you ?

This is something that I've acted on (mainly by not acting), and if anyone wants to know why I'm an idiot in any particular way in the future, well, now here's something I can point to. Doing the work to publish it in some workable form and seeing your response to it has put the author and myself in a much different light.

I'm working on digging myself out of a hole about 6 feet deep and part of that is exposing the rabbit holes I've been down and not being a "secret king" by listening to his podcast all the time and feeling smart and righteous while not accomplishing anything.

I do not yet understand the RNG attack reference, but that in fact may be your point, and I will begin working towards making a name.

> on his show he regularly criticizes the college rape insanity

The funny thing about the whole "campus rape culture" / collegiate party scene being that it was the only reason anyone even fucking went anymore -- god knows any sort of learning worth the mention long flew the coop. But whatever, typical pantsuits, sawing excitedly at the very branch under their ass. Then again, I guess their typical "fell off the stupid tree hitting face-first every branch on the way down" disfigurement has to be produced somehow, it's certainly not naturally occuring. Come to think of it, maybe that's why they keep sawing off all dem branches : once the stupid tree looks more like a penis than like a tree, all smooth and branchless, they'll have a first generation of pantsuits with whole jaws and normal faces.

In any case, it seems rather certain the dissolving DNC will have managed to destroy college as an activity for practicaly its last action in this world. The future appears to hold a bipartisan system formed entirely out of what currently calls itself "republicans", namely the "old republicans" ex-right wing becoming a (very scandalously) left-of-center atrocity by moving significantly right, and the group that erupted the "tea party" years back, meanwhile swelled to remarkable proportions, supplying the new right -- indeed significantly right of policies traditionally associated with national socialism. In this new scheme, whose center finds itself way past what Overton could currently even conceive, there's no space for "going to college", much like in the old system there was no space for "spent my 20s and 30s raiding The Lich of Herpderp's lair" or whatever the fuck. (An astute observer will indeed notice the difference between the two is purely the label -- there's some "learning" going on in the latter scenario, about as well dissolved into distraction as in the former.)

Of course, all this spells disaster for the amply monetized debt structure involved, but then again nobody said Argentina has to make sense financially -- nor can it possibly.

But to get back to your manalone and his utterly disinteresting tribulations (and thereby answer an old question of Julia's also) : what passed for "ok, i guess" back in 2014 meanwhile acquired a name. I'm not about to read that pile of detritus, as per republican policy, even though this article trackbacks trilema. You're more than welcome to salvage whatever points you deem worth salvaging, but it'll happen in your name, there's no rescuing some ignare espece de con as such.

One side-effect of that is the self-obvious... how about you start by making a name for yourself first ? This sitting on ass trying to "make sense" of the pointless drivel of others sitters-on-ass that have come before isn't liable to produce anything either meaningful or interesting ; the very possibility of meaning arises from activity, and by the time you'll have done enough to be recognized and respected, you'll therefore also have cognitively & mentally developed enough to be able to make sense of the RNG attack.

Until that day, it can sit here. Not like it's going anywhere -- literally.
